1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the FIXR application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. FIXR reserves the right to update these terms at any time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.
2. About FIXR
FIXR is a marketplace platform that connects customers seeking home maintenance, repair, and improvement services with independent tradespeople. FIXR does not perform any trade services itself and acts solely as an intermediary.
3. User Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use FIXR. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your profile up to date. FIXR reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Tradespeople
Tradespeople on FIXR are independent contractors, not employees of FIXR. They are solely responsible for the quality, safety, and legality of their work. Tradespeople represent that they hold all required licences, certifications, and insurance for the services they offer. FIXR does not guarantee the quality of any work performed.
Insurance Disclaimer: FIXR does not verify that tradespeople hold valid insurance policies. Customers are advised to request proof of insurance directly from tradespeople before work commences. FIXR accepts no liability for uninsured work.
5. Payments & Fees
Customers pay for services through the FIXR wallet system. A booking fee is charged when accepting a quote. For fixed-price jobs, funds are held in escrow until the job is marked complete. For hourly jobs, a minimum of 1 hour is held upfront. FIXR charges tradespeople a commission on completed jobs (10% standard, 5% for Pro subscribers). All prices are displayed in GBP.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
Customers may cancel jobs that have not yet started for a full refund of held funds (excluding the booking fee). Once a tradesperson has begun work, cancellation terms may vary. Disputes should be raised through the App's messaging system or by contacting FIXR support at support@fixrapp.org.
6A. Pro Subscription — Cooling-Off Period
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel your FIXR Pro subscription from the date of purchase and receive a full refund, no questions asked.
To exercise this right, contact us at support@fixrapp.org within 14 days of subscribing, stating your name, email address, and that you wish to cancel under your statutory cooling-off right. We will process your refund within 14 days of receiving your request.
If you continue to use Pro features during the cooling-off period and then cancel, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the services already provided. After the 14-day cooling-off period, you may still cancel your subscription at any time, but your Pro benefits will remain active until the end of your current billing period and no refund will be given for the remaining period.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose; harass, threaten, or abuse other users; submit false or misleading information; attempt to circumvent the payment system; manipulate reviews or ratings; use automated tools to access the App; or interfere with the App's operation.
8. Reviews & Ratings
Users may leave honest reviews after completed jobs. Reviews must be truthful and relevant to the service provided. FIXR reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these terms or contain inappropriate content.
9. Limitation of Liability
FIXR is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FIXR shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. FIXR's total liability shall not exceed the fees you have paid to FIXR in the preceding 12 months.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
