1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and payment information. For tradespeople, we also collect identity documents (photo ID), trade certification photos, certification numbers, business logos, and portfolio images to verify qualifications and display your profile. We also collect usage data including device information, IP address, and app interaction data. If you enable location services, we collect your location to match you with nearby users.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide and improve the App; match customers with tradespeople; process payments; send notifications about jobs, quotes, and messages; verify tradesperson qualifications; prevent fraud; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Sharing
We share limited information with: other FIXR users (your name, trade, rating, and profile photo are visible to facilitate connections); payment processors (Stripe) to process transactions; push notification services (Expo) to deliver notifications; and law enforcement when required by law.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on encrypted servers. Sensitive documents such as identity photos and trade certifications are stored in private storage accessible only to you and FIXR administrators for verification purposes. We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication tokens, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and data (via Settings in the App)
- Restrict or object to data processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time

6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data — including profile information, identity documents, certification photos, messages, and uploaded files — is permanently deleted. We may retain anonymised transaction records for legal and accounting purposes for up to 7 years as required by UK law. Any remaining wallet balance is forfeited upon account deletion; please withdraw funds before deleting your account.
7. Cookies & Tracking
The FIXR mobile app does not use browser cookies. Our admin panel uses session cookies for authentication purposes only. We use minimal analytics to understand app usage patterns and improve the service. You can opt out of marketing communications in Settings.
8. Children's Privacy
FIXR is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
